The term Little Rann of Kutch (the word Rann means Desert) usually conjures up images of the stunning white desserts featured in many Bollywood films. Still, the Rann of Kutch is more than just the white Rann (as it is called). Another hidden gem worth exploring in Kutch is the Little Rann of Kutch. Do not be misled by the moniker; Rann is not a remote location. This desert wetland covers around 5000 square kilometers. Little Rann of Kutch boasts breathtaking scenery, rich flora, and animals that captivate any traveler.
The 15th Biosphere Reserve is the Little Rann of Kutch. Because of its strategic location, the bird migration route is ideal for feeding, nesting, and roosting for many migrating species.
It is a bizarre experience to see the shy critters, many flamingos dotting the pink and white marshland, and the unusual salt pans. If you had to choose the best experience in Gujarat, Wild Ass Sanctuary is second only to the White Rann of Kutch.
The Wild Ass sanctuary is the main draw in Little Rann of Kutch. This area's distinctive landscape includes marshlands, waterbodies, grey, arid fields, salt pans, vegetation, and much more. Aside from the animals, the wildlife refuge is a birder's and wildlife photographer's dream.
Not only does this place have natural beauty, but it has also carefully preserved local heritage and culture. This region is home to ethnic tribes such as the Rabaris, Bharvads, Agariyas, and Mirs. It's a feast to see the inhabitants dressed in traditional clothes and huge silver jewelry.

Important Note
The Wild Ass Sanctuary is the residence of the Indian Wild Ass, also known as ghudkhar. It is one of the remaining sites where these majestic wild animals may be seen. Although the area is dedicated to and dominated by the Indian wild ass, it is also home to approximately 30 to 35 different varieties of mammals. The most common creatures are caracals, Indian wolves, blackbucks, striped hyenas, antelopes, and Chinkaras. If you're lucky, you'll be able to see all of these magnificent creatures in their native habitat.
Many migratory species visit the Wild Ass Sanctuary, including Desert Wheatears, Larks, White-browed Bulbuls, Indian Coursers, Saras Cranes, Indian Flamingos, and Pelicans.
Dhrangadhra and Bajana are the two main entrances to the wild Ass Sanctuary.
A Jeep Safari is the most acceptable way to explore the vast expanse of the Wildlife Sanctuary. Jeep safaris are usually included in the price of your stay at the resort. However, scheduled jeep and minibus safaris depart from Dhrangadhra, Patdi, and Zainabad. Private jeeps are also available for hire at these locations.
The entry permit can be obtained from the Forest Department in Dhrangadhra and Bajana. The admittance charge varies depending on whether you visit during the week or on weekends and whether you are an Indian or a domestic traveler.
Throughout the week, the charge for Indians is 600 rupees and 2,600 rupees for foreigners. It rises on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The guide may cost you an additional $300-400. Furthermore, if the safari is not included in your lodging package, you may be charged 2,000-3,000 rupees for the jeep, which seats six people. You must also pay additional fees for the cameras.
The ideal months are October to March. Because the vegetation is fresh at this time, wild animals come to eat on the newly growing grass. During a Jeep safari, you could readily detect them. A Jeep safari in the morning is the most acceptable method for discovering the Little Rann. There are higher opportunities to see wild creatures in the mornings. There are also afternoon safaris offered.
